The division bench of Justices Ajay Bhanot and Garima Prasad rejected the petitions of both, considering the gravity of the offence. The petition was dismissed after the state government’s Additional Advocate General, Anoop Trivedi, objected.
The accused, who have been absconding, had filed a petition seeking quashing of the FIR and a stay on their arrest.
An FIR has been registered against both of them in the Jaunpur police station, in which both have been accused in the codeine cough syrup case.
